Guide to Nusa Dua

Translated, Nusa Dua means two islands, so you know what that means – two islands, two times the fun! This is one of the more popular destinations in Bali as it has been built up and maintained specifically for tourists. The area is noted for its delightful resorts set in stunning manicured tropical gardens that run to the edge of the palm fringed beach, with serene atmospheres and superbly attentive service. You’re going to love it here!

Where to Stay

Like we said, Nusa Dua was specifically made for tourists and as such is a gated community. It’s home to mostly five-star properties and a lot of big chain hotels can also be found here. But without doubt, the best part about staying in Nusa Dua is that most of the properties are right on the beach!

Being a gated community, this is a relatively exclusive part of Bali and is known as a very quiet and safe area. It’s the perfect place for both families and couples wanting a relaxing resort-style getaway. In fact, most of the large properties have their own clubs and places for the kids to hang out and be cared for while parents enjoy some time of their own.

Nusa Dua’s peninsula area in the south of the island hosts many of the major international resorts in Bali. These include:

  • The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel
  • Melia Bali
  • Laguna Resort and Spa

Things to do in Nusa Dua, Bali

Nusa Dua is an ideal location for both families and couples, offering a wonderful selection of restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Because most of the resorts in Nusa Dua are larger than those in the other popular tourist areas, they host a lot of things to do within their own grounds, so make sure you take full advantage of what your hotel has to offer. Almost all of the hotels offer gorgeous swimming pools and perfectly manicured gardens. But let’s not forget the incredible Nusa Dua restaurant scene! Make sure you spend some time treating your taste buds to some of the local delicacies before sitting back and being pampered by the staff at some of Bali’s best day spas.

Love to shop? Well, we’ve got good news for you – there’s an awesome shopping centre in Nusa Dua called ‘Bali Collection’. This outdoor mall has an amazing mix of both international brands you’d be accustomed to, as well as local products, so there’s bound to be something that everyone likes. You can also have a look at some of the smaller markets in the area where the locals do their shopping – after all, who doesn’t like a bit of a haggle?

But don’t spend all of your time (and money) shopping – the beautiful beaches and pristine waters are begging you to come and play! You could easily spend your entire holiday lazing around on the beach, soaking up the sun and atmosphere. There’s also plenty of water sport options, take out jet skis, go on kayaking adventures or see what’s living under the waves with some snorkeling.
