Top 10 Places to Visit in Bali

Our holiday specialists know Bali like the back of their hand. Stephanie Jones is our experienced destination specialist and we’ve picked her brain to find the hottest places to visit in Bali right now. Here are Stephanie’s top ten recommendations to visit on your trip to Bali.

1. Best Cafe in Bali

There are plenty of cafes scattered around Bali, but a certain standout is Grain located in beautiful Seminyak. Grain is a contemporary, European-style cafe that serves plenty of healthy food options. Open 7:30am to 10pm daily, you can visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner or any meal in between. Meal prices at Grain are very reasonable and ranges between AUD$10 and AUD$20 for a main meal and less than AUD$5 for a cup of coffee. A must-try for caffeine fiends is the specialty of Indonesian coffee. Add a side of the freshly-baked cake and enjoy.

2. Best Beach in Bali

If you’re on the hunt for crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches, you’re going to want to take a trip to Uluwatu. Located just 45 minutes from popular Seminyak and the country’s capital, Denpasar, you will find an oasis below the Uluwatu cliffs. We recommend enjoying Uluwatu from the comfort of the Karma Kandara’s Beach Club at Karma Beach.

3. Best Evening Meal in Bali

We couldn’t pick just one – so here are three. For a reasonably priced meal approx. AUD$10 to AUD$20, head to Biku in Seminyak. Biku specialises in Indonesian and Balinese meals with a western twist. Motel Mexicola is arguably one of the most popular dining destinations in Seminyak. The colourful restaurant serves delicious Mexican food before turning into a party destination later in the evening. Prices range from about AUD$20 to AUD$30 for the main meal. For classy dining by the beach look no further than Sundara in Jimbaran. The beach club-style dining serves the most delicious seafood accompanied by a breathtaking view of Jimbaran Bay. Main meals start at AUD$30 but undoubtedly worth every dollar.

4. Best Sunday Morning Brunch in Bali

The best Sunday Morning Brunch award goes to Starfish Bloo at the W, Seminyak. Between 7 – 10:30 am Monday to Sunday as well as a special Sunday brunch service 12 – 3:30 pm you can enjoy some of the most delicious brunch foods like pancakes, eggs, fresh juice, coffee and plenty more.

5. Best Surf Spot in Bali

The best surf spot in Bali is no doubt Padang Padang. Nicknamed the ‘Pipeline of Bali’ the surf break is a long and steep wave that breaks on a shallow reef. If you’re confident on your board, this is a surf break you won’t want to miss.

6. Best Yoga Class in Bali

For the ultimate Balinese yoga experience, visit Intuitive Flow in the village of Penestanan, Ubud. Intuitive Flow is a quiet yoga studio surrounded by tall glass windows that provide breathtaking views of the forests below. Totally zen.

7. Best Spa in Bali

Nestled in Seminyak’s busy city is a hidden day spa called Body Works. After 20 years in business, Body Works has solidified its place as one of the best day spas in Bali and delivers the highest standard of Indonesian healing techniques.

8. Best Fashion and Jewellery Shops in Bali

Seminyak is a hot spot for good quality fashion and jewellery. These are our holiday specialist’s top recommendations: ● Somewhere Store ● Buddha Wear ● Joy Jewelry

When it comes to Beach Clubs, nothing beats Finn’s Beach Club in Canggu. Fitted-out with four pools, nine bars, six restaurants and daily DJ’s, you’ll want to make sure you get in early and spend the entire day taking in one of the world’s best beach clubs.

It can be tricky deciding between some of the most spectacular destinations in the country – but it’s a good problem to have! Lucky for you, we’re here to help. Here’s how to choose between a holiday full of island living or an all-inclusive holiday on the mainland. Fiji Islands We all need to get away to a faraway island from time to time. After stressing about deadlines and spending every morning to night working, you need some quiet time on a tranquil island. This is precisely what you will find on your holiday in the Fijian islands. The Fijian islands are a great place for a quiet escape with fewer crowd numbers than the mainland. The majority of resorts in the islands are purely based on providing tranquillity and relaxation to its guests so expect a very relaxing atmosphere wherever you decide to book. Choose between the magnificent Mamanuca Islands, Yasawa Islands or the Northern islands, and you’ll have a selection of high-class resorts at your fingertips. You’ll also be surrounded by some of the friendliest staff in the world. The Fijian locals always welcome visitors with cheerful smiles and incredible customer service. You will be in great hands! Access to Island Resorts Getting to the islands takes an extra boat or plane ride. If you’re set on an island escape, make sure to book a package deal. This will take out all of the stress of travel and accommodation so you can enjoy your holiday from start to finish. Hoot Holidays offers plenty of incredible Fiji Island deals that include flights, luggage and airport transfers. Fiji Mainland The Fijian mainland is a popular destination for visitors. The Fijian culture, townships and people are the main appeal to staying on the mainland. Choose between the tropical Coral Coast, picturesque Denarau Island, and plenty of other mainland locations. We certainly recommend staying at Coral Coast and Denarau if you are looking for an incredible beachfront resort. Resorts on the Coral Coast and Denarau Island offer fantastic facilities and Kids Clubs to cater for every family holiday. If you do plan to have the little ones in tow, check out some of the very accommodating resorts on the Coral Coast and Denarau. Located on the Coral Coast is the popular Shangri-La Yanuca Island Fiji, Warwick Fiji, The Naviti Resort and Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort. Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok, is modern and efficient and is the main hub for connecting flights to all the major tourist destinations in Thailand including Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi and Chiang Mai. The airport is located approximately 45 minutes drive from the city but transfer times will vary depending on traffic and weather conditions. The resort areas of Pattaya and Cha Am/Hua Hin are also accessed via Bangkok and are a comfortable two and three-hour drive from the city. Phuket, Thailand’s premier holiday island destination, is able to be accessed by several direct flights from the East Coast of Australia with Thai Airways International and Jetstar or via several Asian ports including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and of course Bangkok.
