Hotel Tjampuhan

The best kind of holiday is one where you can completely relax and leave all of your stresses behind. What better place to do this than at a combined resort and spa facility?

This year, take in the culture and history of the legendary Hotel Tjampuhan and Spa, which has been a fixture of Bali’s travel circuit since 1928. It was the first ever hotel in the artist colony of Ubud and has continued to flourish over time.

Check into one of a small collection of private bungalows, traditionally styled to reflect the resort’s site at the conjunction of two flowing rivers. In fact, every single feature of the resort is designed to make you feel as at ease as a flowing body of water, from the natural spring water pool to the thatched roofing on the bungalows. This isn’t like being at home – it’s better.

As for the treatments, Hotel Tjampuhan Spa will leave you craving massages and facials long after your flight back home. Set amongst a lush garden overlooking a sacred river valley, even just being on the spa grounds is a relaxing experience. Sink into a private therapy pavilion or the sunken carved stone grotto and prepare to be pampered. Try a massage, sauna or traditional treatment before washing it all away in the Jacuzzi.

The resort boasts two exquisitely maintained swimming pools for you to dive into at your leisure, after which you can retreat to your room for yet more indulgence. Fill your bathtub with bubbles and soak up the Balinese atmosphere, then step outside onto your private terrace to overlook the river valleys and 900 year old Gunung Lembah temple complex. Agung rooms are fan cooled while Raja rooms are air conditioned, so no matter what you choose you’ll be kept cool all day long.
