Le Lagoto Resort

Le Lagoto is a small, boutique resort that offers all the benefits of a large complex while remaining private and intimate. It is located right on a beautiful white sand beach.

The Fales (bungalows) are Samoan styled with contemporary touches to ensure that guests are completely comfortable. Each Fale has a private patio with sea views and the lush tropical gardens and are perfectly situated for views of their famous sunsets. With only 10 Beach Fales and one Beach House you can rest assured that you will be looked after with personal attention by the fabulous staff.

Le Lagoto is situated on the smaller island of Savai'i, about 45 minutes ferry ride from Mulifanua Warf plus a 45 minutes car transfer. Located on a beautiful white sandy beach, fringed with coconut trees and warm crystal clear water: certainly worth a visit.

In Savaii Island you'll find a great range of sights from volcanic craters and lava tubes, rain forest canopy walks, blowholes and some lovely beach settings alongside traditional Polynesian villages which are even more laid back than on Upolu. The greatest attraction of the region is the Tafua Peninsula to the south of town with its huge accessible crater and splendid wild coastal views.

The hike around Tafua Crater takes approximately an hour from its base. On the south-western side of the peninsula is the lovely Aganoa Beach with its excellent offshore surfing. The east coast is the most developed stretch of Savaii with traditional villages and extraordinarily large churches, and several lovely beaches and snorkelling lagoons - this is the place to visit to immerse yourself in Samoan village life, which comes alive at sundown.

The resort consists of 10 Fales, 5 Beach Front and 5 Ocean View. The Beach Front Fales are located right on the beach and feature uninterrupted views and access to the beach. The Ocean View Fales are in a row behind but still have beach views.

The units are built in Samoan Style with modern upgrades for your comfort and relaxation. Each has a private patio with ocean views, is surrounded by lush vegetation and has westerly orientation so you can admire amazing sunsets.

The fales and apartments are serviced daily. You'll receive fresh towels each day and fresh linen every second day. For those in need of wheelchair access arrangements can be made by previous advice.

Children are welcome at Le Lagoto, and the resort can provide high chairs, cots, baby baths and a kid's menu. If you need time out from the littlies, child minding can be arranged for you.

The resort accepts Visa, MasterCard, travellers cheques and cash in numerous currencies.

There is a beautiful infinity pool for that late afternoon swim under the golden light of the sun hiding below the horizon.

Just down the road there are waterfalls to die for and you can swim with the turtles not too far away as well.

The check-in time is 1.30pm and the check out time 11.00am.

Shopping, across the road from the resort is a general store that sells Samoan handicrafts, snacks, ice cream, groceries and postcards.

At Le Lagoto they understand how important good food and drinks are to a great holiday experience. Just a stroll away from your bungalow, you can find the well renowned Vailili licensed restaurant, with an extensive choice of food.

Here you can savour fresh, exotic fare seven days a week from 7.30am to 10.00pm. The outdoor dining deck is perfectly situated for maximum views of the sunset and as night falls, the myriad of stars visible in Samoa.

Room service is available; you can place at the restaurant.

Hans Bar - Savaii's only Beach Bar, offers a wide variety of spirits, a cocktail list and, of course, Samoa's own local beer, Vailima. The perfect way to relax into the Samoan pace of life, there's no better way to end your day than with a cocktail at the bar, while you watch the sun set on another beautiful day in paradise. Enjoy the daily Happy Hours, from 4pm to 6pm, on beers and cocktails; With an extra hour on Friday.

There is a small library in the foyer, where you can source and exchange holiday literature. Once a week, the Le Lagoto String Band will entertain you with their repertoire of traditional Samoan songs and other well-known tunes, depending on occupancy.

Le Lagoto offers the perfect way for guests to really relax into their Samoan holiday! Bodyworks offer a range of massages and beauty treatments including body scrubs, waxing and for those who overindulge in the sun a cooling and soothing sunburn treatment!

There is no better way to unwind completely than by having your body and senses lulled into a state of bliss at Le Lagoto Spa, Bodyworks. They offer a range of massages and beauty treatments - from body scrubs, waxing and hand and foot care, to cooling treatments for sun burnt skin. Try the Samoan Fofo (massage) that uses traditional technique to access many acupressure points around the body. You will feel absolutely relaxed after your treatment.

Samoans, as all Polynesians, have used nature's bounty to help heal, soothe and nourish skin, and to lift the spirits. Products used at Bodyworks include virgin coconut oil (great for massaging and nourishment), the tiare flower (to revive the soul with its alluring aroma) and papaya, which is rich in vitamins and especially good for sunburn.

Savaii Region Information

Are you always the explorer in your group of friends- the one who wants to check out that new Pasifika restaurant and hike up the hill just to see whats on the other side? We think Savaii might just be the right place for you.

Savaii is an adventurer's dream with its lush rainforests, secluded beaches, waterfalls and mountainous interior. Most of Savaii remains uninhabited and has retained its natural beauty.

Savaii is the largest island in Samoa and where you'll find absolutely lush natural wonders as well as adventure activities.

There is nowhere else with quite the same tropical foliage and gorgeous scenery. Photos don't do this place justice, trust us - this you've got to see to believe.

On your walks up mountains, visits to isolated beaches, waterfalls and forests, you'll feel like you've stepped into a fantastical paradise. Because most of Savaii is still uninhabited, the wildlife here is untouched and lush.

You'll meet some of the friendly locals, venture to the communal rock pools, see the weathered churches and the native animals who've made their home here, such as wild pigs and roaming horses.

The wetland sanctuary at Savaii's Satoalepai village is a must-visit. Your friends will be jealous that you got to swim with green turtles! These creatures are large and majestic, calmly swimming through the water next to you.

When you're looking for places to stay, you'll quickly find the options are plentiful. Do you want to see what it's like to live in total luxury at an opulent resort or hotel in Savaii? Would you rather sleep in a traditional Samoan beach fale?

Either way, there are many rustic accommodation options as well as resorts in Savaii. You'll wake up to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach and the ocean right at your door.

Savaii is just an hour and a half ferry ride to the island of Upolu, so your Samoan adventure can continue.
