What to pack into a five-day trip to Port Vila - Vanuatu

Port Vila

Want to experience everything Port Vila, Vanuatu, has to offer but don’t have the time to plan it yourself? No worries! We’ve prepared a full five-day itinerary for you.

Day One - Hit the beach

Enjoy waking up on your first day in paradise with the included brekky at your resort. After you’ve filled up on delicious breakfast, you will likely feel eager to dig your toes in the sand and go for a swim in the ocean. Less than a 10-minute walk from Warwick Le Lagon, you can catch a boat to Erakor Island, voted one of the best beaches in Port Vila. Don’t forget to bring your towel, sunglasses, sunscreen and a good book and enjoy a full day at this beautiful beach.

When you return in the afternoon, have a friendly match at the resort’s tennis courts before you taper off your first day in Vanuatu with a few drinks and a meal. The Lagoon Terrace Restaurant serves a daily themed buffet for dinner, you’ll be in for a pleasant culinary surprise

 Day Two - Snorkel safari

Once you’ve filled up on your complimentary breakfast on day two, grab your day trip necessities and wait in the lobby to board your Hideaway Island boat tour. Today, you’ll enjoy a guided snorkelling safari to the world’s only underwater post office. Purchase your postcard on the beach, address it and post it three metres below water! Friends and family in Australia should receive it in four to 10 days. After you’ve got your signature underwater post office picture, treat yourself to lunch at the Marine Park Adventure and head back to the resort in the early afternoon. Alternatively, head to Back to Eden, where you can embark on a 90-minute snorkel safari, and perhaps even see a turtle!

Day Three - Go chasing waterfalls

After breakfast spend the day basking in the Mele Cascade Waterfalls’ magnificence. Most of the waterfalls’ day tours only go for a couple of hours so you will return to the resort with plenty of the afternoon left for activities. Whether you want to spend it laying on the beach with a good book or head for a 20-minute walk down the road to check out local artwork, it’s totally up to you. Take in the work of talented artists at the local Port Vila art gallery; Foundation Suzanne Bastien. Then return to the hotel to unwind with a glass of wine, or head out on the town for a meal at Stonegrill Restaurant, a local favourite.

Day Four - Relax and cruise at sunset

Take it easy on day four. Have a sleep in and roll out of bed when you’re ready. Enjoy some breakfast and head out for a relaxing game of golf. Alternatively, get your sweat on and hit the gym before cooling off in the pool. When you’ve worked up an appetite, treat yourself to lunch and a walk through Downtown Port Vila. We suggest you visit duty-free, where the alcohol prices are some of the cheapest in the region.

In the afternoon enjoy a Sunset Cruise for two adults.  A relaxing experience on the water, you’ll undoubtedly be in a zen state after day four, so head back to the resort for an early dinner and enjoy a full nights’ sleep.

 Day Five - Massage time

Finish off your holiday the right way and make sure you have booked in for a one hour massage for two and, make sure you are returning home more relaxed than when you left. Spend your last afternoon relaxing by the pool and finishing that compelling book.
