FOR THE LITTLIES
Dino Park Mini Golf
Ever wanted to play golf in a prehistoric setting reminiscent of Jurassic Park? We guarantee your kids have! Dino Park Mini Golf , situated between Karon and Kata beaches in Phuket, is an incredible location for a day out with the family. There’s a full 18 hole mini-golf course, scale replicas of dinosaurs and an ‘erupting volcano’. Did we mention there’s a Flintstones-themed restaurant, too? Dino Park Mini Golf is open from 10am-11pm daily and entry costs roughly AUD$5 for kids and AUD$10 for adults.
Splash Jungle Water Park
12 thrilling water slides. An aqua play and kids’ pool. A Jungle Deli serving fresh food to keep hunger at bay. Need we say more? Located just 15-minutes from the airport in Thalang, Phuket, Splash Jungle Water Park offers an actioned packed day guaranteed to have the kids (and adults!) beaming. The park puts safety first providing life jackets and a team of trained lifeguards, so you can rest assured your family is in safe hands. Tickets are AUD$30 for kids and AUD$60 for adults. Opens from 10am-6pm daily.
FOR THE ADULTS
Pool. Book. Bliss
How does a few hours peaceful time by the pool sound? The majority of our Thailand packages offer kids’ clubs, so while the littlies are playing, you can enjoy some well-earned rest. Grab a book (you can find our best for summer here), park up in a shaded spot and take it easy. If you’re feeling adventurous, wander down to the beach. World-renowned as the ‘pearl of the Andaman Sea’, Phuket is definitely worth exploring.
Venture out for a drive (or tuk-tuk ride) to Chillva Market, located in Phuket Town, for an eclectic shopping experience. The night market makes use of colourful shipping containers where locals sell handmade trinkets, clothes and accessories. Popular with Thai teens, Chillva Market is an exotic alternative to more touristy activities and is suitable for the whole family. The full market runs from 5pm-11pm, Wednesday to Saturday.
FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Burn off a few cocktails by embarking on a 4km uphill walk starting in Phuket Town. Monkey Hill is the best-known monkey playground on the island, but there are a few things to keep in mind for your visit. Leave the plastic bags and valuables at home as monkeys are notorious for pinching things. You can buy bananas for the monkeys to eat out of your hands, but be careful as they are wild and can be aggressive. Bring your camera to capture some fun snaps. Make sure it’s strapped around your neck, though!
With 1.5km of golden sand and endless activities on offer, Kata Beach is enjoyable for families of every size. Adults can hire deck chairs for roughly AUD$9 day, while kids can create their own fun building castles in the golden sand. Head to the rocks at the south end of the beach for the best snorkelling. You’ll be able to hire gear along the way.
