All about Fiji island day cruises

When winter is well and truly underway, it's the perfect time to plan a trip to a tropical land. Fiji is particularly perfect between July and September. During the high season, the sun is out in force, and the temperature is around 15-25 degrees Celsius - warm, but not too hot. And there are wonderfully relaxing activities the whole family will enjoy - like a day cruise.

South Seas Cruises is just one of many cruise ship operators that will take you out on the brilliant blue seas to explore the islands. They offer two main packages:

The Yasawa Islands

A bright yellow catamaran will take you to these remote islands where you can spend the day. While on board, you'll see the chain of stunning, unique islands. There are volcanic cliffs and distinctive rock formations, as well as long stretches of beaches lined with verdant foliage.

When you get peckish, you'll get a tasty packed lunch, and if you're in need of a refreshing beverage, choose a drink from the onboard bar. Taking your camera along is a must. While photos won't quite do the beauty of the area justice, they'll be great mementos you can hang around your home.

The Mamanucas

The boat that will take you out to this idyllic location is a two-story catamaran that's designed to give you total comfort and amazing views. From the upper deck you can see the coral reefs, cobalt lagoons and tropical islands.

There are two options you can choose from with this cruise. With the cruise only you will meander around the Mamanuca Islands, seeing the sights along the way. The other option is to also have lunch at Malolo or Treasure Island. While you're there, you can take a dip in the ocean, unwind at the beach bar and satisfy your hunger with a hearty lunch.
