There’s a lot happening when you plan a wedding. A lot of people to keep happy and a lot more who want a say in what happens on the big day. But what does the bride care about? What’s most important to her?
A recent survey asked exactly that question and the answer was resounding. The number one priority, according to one in four brides, was having enough space to comfortably accommodate guests at the wedding.
The next on the bride’s list was having someone to plan the wedding and ensure that the catering exceeded expectations.
Coming in at number three was the need to have beautiful outdoor spaces for photographs.
If these are your priorities, and you are planning a wedding, then you should chat with the weddings team at Hoot Holidays about a destination wedding in Fiji or Thailand, which can deliver on all three of those preferences.
Fiji wedding specialist Deahann Urqueza says that Hoot Holidays creates happy weddings by taking care of every aspect of the big day. “We look after everything for your wedding,’’ Deahann says.
“From the ceremony, reception, group travel rates for your guests, local suppliers such as hair and make-up, photographers and DJs - everything.
“Fiji is beautiful to travel to all year round. Our most popular months for weddings are May to October as you are outside of the wet season. In saying that we now do a large number of weddings in the other months. “Even if it rains, all the resorts have back up ceremony and reception areas. This is why the majority of resorts hold only one wedding a day.’’
Deahann says that brides often ask if the marriage is legally valid in Australia. “Yes, it sure is,’’ she says. “You can change your driver’s licence, bank account and Medicare with your Fijian Marriage Certificate. Your passport is the only thing that needs to be changed through Births, Deaths and Marriages. It is done as a name change.’’
Deahann says her team can help organise pre-and-post wedding activities for guests so it truly does feel like a “real holiday” for everyone. And another bonus is that a destination wedding is often more economical than a traditional wedding in Australia.
“We have all-inclusive packages that should work within all budgets. And when we say all-inclusive we mean it; expect everything from the ceremony, celebrant and license through to food, drink and flower arrangements to be built into your quote,’’ she said.
Deahann also says on most occasions, booking for six nights means Hoot Holidays can get even better rates for guests. “The bride and groom will need to arrive two or three working days before the wedding as they will need to go to the registry,’’ Deahann says.
“For guests we usually suggest the same. Some groups want to hold the bucks/hens before the wedding or do a welcome party. We also usually get better guest accommodation rates for minimum six-night stays.’’
One added bonus, according to Deahann, is that the pictures will look amazing. “You’ll be guaranteed a pristine setting with white sandy beaches and glorious sunsets,” she says. “Aqua waters will serve as your backdrop and, after the day is done, you’ll be able to enjoy these pictures for years to come.’’
