Best South Pacific Islands everyone should visit

South-Asia-pacific

Every island in the South Pacific has its own culture and attractions. Depending on your ideal holiday, we’ve got the information to help you choose the best South Pacific Island for you.

Vanuatu

Port Vila is the capital city and is the most popular destination for travellers. Once you’ve arrived in tropical paradise, you’ll be greeted by excited and welcoming locals. There’s a good reason Vanuatuan people are so happy. Imagine waking up every morning on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with the best ocean views. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Port Vila is a highly regarded holiday destination for travellers and is only 20 minutes from Vanuatu’s Bauerfield International Airport. Whether you’re after a relaxing holiday in a hammock with a good book, or you’re keen on zip lining, quad biking and kayaking, Port Vila has it all.

There are also plenty of great resorts that offer a range of facilities including golf courses, swimming pools and tennis courts. If you are planning on taking the little ones along - check out the Warwick Le Lagon Resort & Spa. For a couples romantic getaway, we recommend the luxurious Vale Vale Beachfront Villas.

Samoa

The surf is always pumping in Samoa. Coconuts, Samoa was voted #32 in CNN's top 50 surf spots in the world. If you are a skilled wave rider, you’ll love this spot, but for beginners, don’t be afraid to book yourself into a surf lesson. All ages and abilities are welcome.

After you’ve taken on some of the world’s best waves, why not put your feet up in one of Samoa’s unique open Beach Fales. You can stay in one of the Taufua Beach Fales for roughly AUD$120  per person per night. Whether you want to try out the open beach bungalows or you’d prefer the privacy of an enclosed bungalow, the choice is yours.

Stay near all the action at one of the most stunningly located resorts in Samoa, Return to Paradise Resort & Spa. A fantastic location and with great facilities, but the real attraction is the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff that provide five-star service.

 The Cook Islands

Halfway between Australia and Hawai’i is a discrete archipelago and the little paradise known as the Cook Islands. Rarotonga is the largest and most picturesque island and is surrounded by crystal clear waters, dramatic reefs and white-sand beaches while the interior is dominated by volcanic peaks, ridges and lush rainforests.

Stay at the beachfront Moana Sands lagoon Resort and receive complimentary use of snorkelling gear and kayaks. Spend all day in the water and snorkel around the beautiful, untouched coral coastline.

Fiji

If it is your first time to Fiji or you have been before, Captain Cook Cruises offers a unique and magical way to see the Fiji Islands.  The seven-night cruise through the picturesque Yasawa Islands offers breathtaking scenery and excellent kayaking and snorkelling in an ocean teeming with amazing coral gardens and marine life. Plus, enjoy all the added extras like breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, guided island walks and plenty of cultural activities.

If you’ve got the little ones in tow, you can also make the most of the group childminding so you and your partner can enjoy private time in the jacuzzi.
