Return to Paradise Resort & Spa

Stunning beach, great rooms, good food and fabulous people. These are just a few of the things that make Return To Paradise Resort so special. The name says it all!

Just 18 months young this resort has a dream-like setting by a famous beach and coral lagoon – a location chosen many years ago for a romantic film starring the legendary Gary Cooper. The resort was planned to blend into the area’s natural beauty and provide top standards of accommodation and service. Rooms feature hand-carved poles and mouldings, hand-smoothed marble tiles and luxurious silks. Each has a private balcony, deck or verandah, angled to catch every one of those stunning South Seas sunsets.

For foodies, the main restaurant, Paradise Kitchen, has international chefs and two of the three bars also serve food.

There’s massage facilities and a range of leisure activities to keep you as busy or relaxed as you want plus there is an 18-hole golf course just 30 minutes away along with picturesque villages and caves to explore.

The area around Return to Paradise Resort is home to some of Samoa’s most ancient banyan trees; you’ll see them towering above the rainforest canopy. There are mineral pools, beautiful gardens and a lagoon teeming with colourful reef fish. The sands are silvery, the water is warm, and the service is superb: yes, this resort wants its guests to experience true tropical heaven. And the name of that romantic old Gary Cooper film? ‘Return to Paradise’, of course.

Entertainment

Return to Paradise Resort is the hub of some amazing authentic only-in-Samoa activities that are based around the natural resources of the surrounding villages. All these activities are focused on enjoying the environment while protecting it, and providing income for the local landowners. These include:

 Giant Clam reserve – kayak over or snorkel up close through this amazing site, giant clams, some as big as an armchair growing in their natural habitat. The village has set up a protected reserve to protect these amazing creatures.

 Paopao (traditional Samoan kayak) experience - our guides will teach you how to navigate these traditional craft, and then take you on a guided tour through mangrove swamps out in to the lagoon and across to a beautiful secluded beach only accessible from the sea for lunch.

 Swimming with turtles - our guides will take you to a secret location where turtles cavort in their natural habitat. You can swim around these amazing gentle creatures – you will especially enjoy this with an underwater camera.

 Spear fishing – our guides will show you how you too can live off the sea as their families have done for over a thousand years by traditional spear fishing. Cook your fish over a fire, or take your catch back to the resort and our chefs will serve it up for your dinner.

 Cultural secrets - an excellent introduction to Samoan culture in a traditional village setting where you will be hosted by our Talking Chief. You get to participate in the daily tasks of a typical Samoan family, like making the umu, learn how a kava ceremony is conducted and how to survive on the medicinal plants of Samoa's forest.
