Location

Situated on 17 acres of coconut plantation, surrounded by a spectacular sheltered coastline. Jean-Michel Cousteau is located on Fiji's northern island, Vanua Levu, which is a 1 hour flight from Nadi. The resort provides a meet and greet service from Nadi and complimentary return transfers to and from Savusavu Airport.

For a true Fijian experience join the local village excursion, traditional kava ceremony or learn the local Fijian language. Adventurers will enjoy hiking through the tropical rainforest to waterfalls, Medicinal Plant Walks and reef flat walks. Guests can also take part in the local fun at the colourful farmers market every Saturday morning.

Bula Club is the resorts complimentary childrens program catering to all kids up to 12 years old. The comprehensive range of recreational activities offers a fun and educational program where kids can learn about the world and its environment as well as traditional Fijian culture. The Bula Club grounds feature a purpose built kids swimming pool, jungle gym and activities bure for arts and crafts. Dining

Jean-Michel Cousteau includes all meals and non-alcoholic beverages in their rates and the poolside restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Featuring an open-air setting with wonderful views of the sparkling ocean, the menu includes contemporary Fijian and International cuisine with fresh ingredients grown in their own organic garden. There is also an extensive wine list which has been carefully selected to compliment the enticing menu options.

Every week guests can enjoy two special dining events with a traditional Fijian lovo feast and a Mongolian barbeque.

Other unique dining experiences available at the resort include dining under the stars at Piers end, private dining bures along the shoreline and a gourmet picnic lunch specially prepared by the chef for you to enjoy on your own private island.

If you feel like dining in the privacy of your own bure, the resort also offers room service at a charge.

Room Facilities

Exuding style and sophistication the 25 thatched bures are oversized and built of local materials. Featuring wooden louvered windows to take full advantage of the tropical sea breeze, large private deck with fabulous garden or ocean views plus a complimentary mini-bar stocked with soft drinks and snacks. All bures provide custom made king size beds, day bed, overhead fan, standing fan, writing desk, bathrobes, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Additional bedding is available in all bures on request.

Gardenview Bures are peacefully set overlooking the colourful flowering gardens and exotic plants. These bures can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults.

Oceanfront Bures feature a hammock on the private deck for guests to relax and enjoy the serenity and magnificent ocean views. These bures feature a king size bed and day bed, sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults.

Oceanfront Suite Bures provide additional space to accommodate up to 5 guests with a king size bed plus king size day bed. These bures have wonderful views of Savusavu Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Bures are ideal for families in need of more space with 2 separate bedrooms comfortably accommodating up to 5 people. Featuring 1 king bed and 1 single day bed in the main bedroom and 2 single beds in the second bedroom, these bures have marvellous ocean views from the private deck with hammock.

Point Reef Bures are set in a secluded area of the resort yet still have easy access to all amenities. These luxurious bures provide spacious split level accommodation with superb views from both levels. Accommodating a maximum of 5 guests with 1 king bed upstairs and 2 single day beds downstairs, children are only permitted to stay in these bures during school holidays.

The Honeymoon Point Reef Bure offers couples a romantic oasis with a private spa on the deck overlooking the spectacular Pacific Ocean. This bure provides the same layout and bedding configuration as the Point Reef Bures, sleeping up to 5 guests, and children are only permitted to stay in this bure during selected times.

The Villa is designed to provide the epitome of deluxe accommodation with indoor and outdoor living at its finest. Tranquilly set on the waters edge, The Villa combines contemporary Fijian architecture and stylish opulence with the master bedroom offering a grand 4 poster bed and sunken bathroom complete with spa, outdoor shower and its own garden and waterfall. There is also an elegant living area, private swimming pool, day bed pavilion, air-conditioning and internet access. This room type can accommodate a maximum of 5 guests.

Family Offers

Complimentary access to the Bula Club from 8.00am to 9.00pm daily. Each child 5 years and under also has a dedicated nanny to take care of them (wherever the child is) and children 6 to 12 years have a Fijian buddy on maximum 1-5 ratio from 8.00am to 9.00pm each day

Children's meals are :

Breakfast 7.00am to 10.00am served in the Oceanfront family dining bure area with parents

Lunch 11.30am to 12.30pm served in Bula Club or in the Oceanfront family restaurant between 12.00pm to 2.00pm. Families may choose a beach picnic at no extra charge.

Dinner 5.30pm to 6.30pm served at Bula Club or families with children may eat in the Oceanfront family restaurant or family deck from 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Imagine a romantic beachfront setting, decorated with fragrant tropical flowers and at sunset traditional Fijian warriors escort the bride to meet the groom at the altar. Meanwhile the procession is followed by the blowing of conch shells and the beating of a lali drum and as the ceremony takes place the Village Choir are serenading in the background. Afterwards the bride and groom cut the wedding cake and enjoy a glass of celebratory champagne with their guests. Optional extras such as photography and videography are also available.
