When most people picture the idyllic scenes of Bali in their head, they’re probably thinking of Seminyak. This hip area is very popular with Australian tourists as it’s the most recently developed region. Located just past Legian, it features some of the island’s best resorts and restaurants as well as all of the picturesque beaches, greenery and villas that you’d expect to see in Bali. You could easily spend your whole holiday here, so let’s take a peek at what else you can expect when you journey to this fun part of the island.
Where to Stay
You’ll find a range of accommodation in Seminyak, from three to five-star options, as well as many private villas. Some of the more popular resorts include Peppers Seminyak and Vasanti Seminyak Resort. Seminyak is also home to many of Bali’s villa resorts which cater to couples wanting that something special or larger groups of friends and families wanting their own home away from home. Many offer two or three bedroom villas with their own kitchens and private pools. No matter what aspects appeal to you, it’s guaranteed to be a wonderful experience for all. In fact, for a lot of people, they love staying in Seminyak so much they never leave – it’s one of the most popular spots for expats to settle!
What to Do
With Seminyak being home to many fantastic restaurants, you have to spend some of your time treating your taste buds to all the exquisite flavours! We’d particularly recommend you spend some time at Ku De Ta, a very popular beachside restaurant and bar with stunning views. Head there in the late afternoon for happy hour and sip some cocktails while watching the sun melt into the ocean.
There’s also plenty of shopping to be done – head to what is known as Eat Street and you’ll find loads of boutiques with one-off items. Many of these shops are owned and operated by expats, incorporating their own unique style and culture into the goods they sell. It makes for an eclectic blend of fashion with inspirations and designs coming from all over the world.
But there’s also a lot of Balinese culture for you to dive into in Seminyak. The place has a wealth of art galleries and museums you can spend your time wandering through at your own pace. You can also go on a tour to learn more about the region from the locals themselves. If that doesn’t sound like your idea of fun, then why not do what the Balinese do best? Head to the beach for some good old fashioned fun in the sun. Scuba dive through the waves, or enjoy a horseback ride along the beach with that special someone.
Need some time to relax? You can spend some time on your holiday in Seminyak spa hopping as there are quite a few places to choose from, each with their own range of treatments. But maybe relaxing isn’t for you. If that’s the case, then we’d suggest you try out the bungy jump experience! With so many things to do in Seminyak, there’s no way you’re going to get bored.
